First Baptist Church is a community of believers in the city of Mt. Vernon, Indiana, along the Ohio River. As such, we believe that we have a particular responsibility and privilege to be both salt and light (Matthew 5:13-16) in Mt. Vernon. In other words, we want to help preserve and clearly promote God's blessings in our civic community through our actions and words. Therefore, we encourage the visitors to our website to explore Mt.
